Abstract

Laboratory tests that are commonly used in clinical laboratories are hematology examination, which are blood related examinations and are useful for establishing diagnose or prognose of an illness. One of the hematological examinations is the number of erythrocytes. Hematological examination in a hospital laboratory or clinic is using a purple covered vaccum tube containing K2EDTA anticoagulant or K3EDTA anticoagulant. The purpose of this research was to determine the differences number of erythrocytes using Dipotassium Ethylene Diamine Tetraacetic Acid (K2EDTA) and Tripotassium Ethylene Diamine Tetraacetic Acid (K3EDTA) Anticoagulants. This type of research is analytical experimental with a crosssectional approach. The study was conducted in the Hematology laboratory of the Surakarta National Health College in February to June 2019 with research subjects from 20 students class 2A in the Assosiate‘s Degree of Health Analyst Surakarta National 2017/2018 academic year taken by total sampling technique. Data is collected by informed consent, the number of erythrocytes examined by automatic method, hypothesis testing is done by paired T test. The normality used of the Shapiro-Wilk showed distribution is normal. Processed data used test hypotesis parametrik paired T test to showed the p value (0,467) >α 0,05. The conclusion of this research there was no significant difference number of erythrocytes using K2EDTA and K3EDTA Anticoagulants.
