Abstract

Asian Swamp eel (Monoptrus albus) is a vetebrate animal that has skin, tendons, cartilage, and connective tissue. In that section there is collagen which can be used to prevent antiaging, wrinkles, moisturize the skin, and increase skin elasticity. In this study a cream preparation was made because cream preparations are commonly used as a cosmetic, practical, easy to spread, easy to clean and work directly in place. The purpose of this study was to obtain the optimum formula for collagen isolate cream using stearuc acid and triethanolamine emulsifiers. Stearic acid emulgator as a mass forming component and improves cream consistency and is combined with triethanolamine because triethanolamine will form a stable M/A emulsion when combined with free acids. Isolation was carried out in two stages, namely the degradation stage using NaOH and chemical hydrolysis witn acetic acid. Determination of the optimum formula was carried out by the Simplex Lattice Design method by determining the upper and lower limits of the factors tested, after obtaining 8 formulas, then the cream was tested with a numerical response, namely the viscosity, adhesion, spreadability, and protective power tests. Verification was analyzed using the One Sample T-Test. The optimum formula for collagen isolate cream from asian swamp eel (Monopterus albus) obtained a comparison between stearic acid and triethanolamine is 1:4,42, optimum formula has a viscosity of 193,3 dPa.s, sdhesion of 11,05 seconds, the optimum formula was verified to compare the optimum formula obtaind from the Simplex Lattice Design method with the optimum formula test results. The results obtained were of significance > 0,05. Which means that they were not significantly different. The Simplex Lattice Design method is valid.
