Abstract

The prevalence of people with type 2 DM shows an increase in the number from year to year. The use of herbal medicine has developed, one of which is herbal medicine to lower blood sugar. Medicinal plants used as herbs to lower blood sugar include brotowali, bay leaf sambiloto, ginger, turmeric, red ginger, meniran, klabet seeds and moringa leaves either in combination or single form. This systematic review is expected to increase scientific evidence on the effect of using medicinal herbs to lower blood sugar in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus. This study is a systematic review without a meta-analysis which begins with a search for scientific articles indexed in the last 10 years on Google Scholar and Pubmed which have been published in the form of scientific articles related to the effect of using medicinal herbs to lower blood sugar on changes in blood sugar levels in patients with type diabetes mellitus-2 and reviewed using Critical Appraisal of The Joanna Brigs Institute The results of 201 research articles were screened into 5 research articles that could be carried out systematic literature review without meta-analysis showing the effect of using medicinal herbs to lower blood sugar on changes in blood sugar levels in patients with type-2 diabetes mellitus.
