Abstract

Boesenbergia pandurata rhizome is a plant that is widely used by Indonesian people. Other than as a seasoning bosenbergia pandurata rhizome also used as traditional medicine considering the culture of Indonesian people in using herbal medicine as traditional medicine. To deal with pest and plant disease problems farmers use pesticides as a barrier to plant pest. However the use of pesticides by farmers is often not in accordance with established regulations giving rise to negative impacts on both humans and the environment. This study aims to test the pesticide dimetoate residues in the organophosphate group at the boesenbergia pandurata rhizome by Spectrophotometry UV-Vis. Qualitative analysis using the method of adding color reagent namely nitric acid, sulfuric acid, and ammonium molybdate. The results showed that the positive boesenbergia pandurata rhizome contained pesticides dimetoate in the organophosphate group. The results of quantitative using Spectrophotometry UV-Vis at 717,0 nm and operating time at 10 minutes. The results of the average levels of dimetoate pesticides obtained 0,4126 mg/kg ± 0,0014. Infidelity does not meet the requirements specified by Indonesian National Standard in 2004 about the maximum residual limit is , 0,1 mg/kg.
