Abstract

Neonatal sepsis and nosocomial infection are the most common diagnosis of neonatal infections. The selection of antibiotics in these conditions needs to be based on the type of bacteria that is commonly involved, the antibiotic dose and the level of safety in neonates. This study aims to explore the types of antibiotics used in neonatal patients. The method used in this study is a non-experimental descriptive research method. Retrospective data collection by looking at prescription data for preeclampsia patients through SIMRS at the Inpatient Installation of RSUD DR. Moewardi Surakarta in 2019. The results of the study obtained antibiotics used by 111 inpatient neonates in RSUD Dr. Moewardi in the period of October - December 2019 was that the green group was the most widely used antibiotic as much as 45.96%, the yellow group was 36.94% and the red group was 17.11% with the highest order on a single antibiotic namely ampisillin (28.77 %), gentamicin injection (19.18%), and cefixime tablets, meropenem, vancomycin (8.22%). Combined antibiotics used include cefoperazon with sulbactam (78.96%), ampicillin with gentamicin (7.89%), cefotaxime with amikacin (2.63%).
