Abstract

Everyone has a risk factor for being infected with COVID-19, adolescents have a lower risk factor than the elderly but usually adolescents do not cause serious symptoms when infected with COVID-19, so the prevalence of data from adolescents is underestimated, this can trigger the spread of COVID-19 increasingly large. This study aims to determine the effect of education given to adolescents regarding the prevention of transmission of COVID-19. This research is a true experimental research with a pretest posttest control research design. The number of samples in this study were 82 adolescents from 112 populations, the samples were divided into two groups, namely the control group and the experimental group. The experimental group was the group that received treatment, while the control group was the group that did not receive treatment or education. This sampling technique uses multistage clutser sampling technique. Data were collected using a pretest and posttest questionnaire to both groups. The results of this study indicate the effect of education on knowledge by providing an effect size of 72.3% and indicate a significant difference between the experimental group and the control group.
