Abstract

Hypertension is a is a long-term medical condition of a person when the blood pressure in the arteries is persistently elevated above normal that is systolic blood pressure ≥ 140 mmHg and or diastolic blood pressure ≥ 90 mmHg. In Kimia Farma Sragen Drug store hypertension cases increase every year. In 2017 hypertension cases as many as 1,423 cases (27%) and increased to 2,123 cases (33%) in 2018. The high number of patients could cause a lack in the supply of hypertension medicines. This was an important concern so that the availability of medicines is always there to provide maximum treatment to patients. This study aims to described the medication prescribing pattern in hypertension patients BPJS Health at Kimia Farma Sragen Drug store in 2019. This study used a descriptive design with a retrospective method. The samples collected from the medical record data of hypertension patients who participate BPJS kesehatan in Kimia Farma Sragen drug Store in 2019 and obtained 100 samples. The study showed that patient with primary hipertension as much as 67% from total samples. The characteristics of patients were dominated by female patients as much as 55% aged 46 years and above. The most commonly used medication was a calcium channel blocker of 47% and the most widely used type of hypertension medicine was amlodipine that is equal to 44%.
