Abstract

Meniran herb (Phyllanthus niruri L.) is one of traditional medicine that can be use as alternative and contains flavonoid. Meniran herb’s flavonoid has antipyretic effect. This experiment in aimed to find the formulation of meniran herb’s (Phyllanthus niruri L.) ethanol patch that is effective as antipyretic on male white rats that has inducted with pentabio vaccine (DPT-HB-Hib). Samples were 24 male white rats as test animals and were divided into four groups, each consist of 6 rats. The negative control group was given patch without extract, positive control group was given paracetamol, and two treatment groups were given meniran herb extract by the dose 0,3g and 0,6 g/200g weights rats. The fever induction of male white rats is using 0,2ml DPT-HB-Hib vaccine intraperitoneally. Rectal temperature measurement on the rats conducted before and after vaccination and after the application of examined material, at 15, 30, 45, 60, 75, 90, 105, 120, 150, 180 minute. The result of the experiment showed that the application of meniran herb ethanol extract by the dose 0,6 g/200g weights could decrease more rectal temperature compared to the dose 0,3 g/200g weights for along 180 minutes of measurement. In this experiment, meniran herb ethanol extract by the dose 0,6 g/200g weights is the best dose of antipyretic
