Abstract

Traditional medicine that has long been known and used by all levels of Indonesian society, including in Hauteas Village, North Biboki District, North Central Timor Regency, East Nusa Tenggara Province. Most of the people in Hauteas Village still practice traditional medicine. The purpose of this study is to provide information about plant species that can be used to reduce high blood pressure in Hauteas Village. This research is a descriptive study with a mix method approach consisting of qualitative and quantitative methods. The sampling technique used is snowball sampling. The data obtained were analyzed using the Use Value (UV) and Fidelity Level (FL) indexes. The results showed that there were 8 types of plants used by the respondents, namely suf muti (Chromolaena odorata), papaya (Carica papaya), tomato (Lycopersicon esculentum), africa (Vernonia amygdalina), garlic (Allium sativum), ginger (Zingiber officinale), soup/celery (Pium graveolus) and basil (Ocimum sanctum) with plant parts used in the form of leaves, stems, tubers, fruit and rhizomes that can be used boiled and without being mixed. Plants that are considered important and most widely used are suf muti plants (Chromolaena odorata) with a Use Value (UV) of 1 (≥ 0.5) and a Fidelity Level (FL) of 100%.
