Abstract

Red wine is one of the alcoholic drinks that contains ethanol which can provide side effects on the hematological component, one of which is platelets. This study aims to determine the effect of alcoholic beverages of red wine types on platelet counts in white rats (Rattus norvegicus). This study is experimental, using 2 treatment groups that is, 1 control group and 1 treatment group. Blood samples are checked for platelet levels using impedance-based automatic devices using the flowcytometry method. The examination results were analyzed using the Mann Whitney test and the Asymp.Sig value was 0,734. From the results of the study it can be concluded that the administration of alcoholic beverages of red wine types does not affect the platelet counts of white rats (Rattus norvegicus).
