Abstract

Indonesia is one of the state with tropical climate. One of the problems that appeared from the tropical climate was tropical disease. Tropical disease can becaused by bacteria, viruses and parasites. The unnoticed clean and healthy behaviours of society can increase parasite dispersion. One of the diseases that came from the parasite was Soil Transmitted Helminths. Over 1.5 billion people or 24% of the world's population infected by Soil Transmitted Helminths. The goal of this research is to know the prevalence of Soil Transmitted Helminths on the students of the Samadikun Public Elementary School Cirébon City that are located in the area with a bad sanitation. This research was conducted using analytical descriptive methods. Sampling technique in this research was conducted with a sampling quota technique sampling in the 45 classes of Samadikun Public Elementary School who met the criteria of the Inclusion. From the results of the research, it was found 33 students who were willing to collect the faeces and fill the quisitioner with a 3% prevalence of the STH infection identification identified. The percentage of the STH species that infected is 3% for Hookworm. In research also found the non-Soil Transmitted Helminths, the egg of the Enterobius vermiccularis worm on one sample.
