Abstract
Malaria is one of the leading causes of death and and illness in children and adults in tropical countries. Malaria is caused by protozoa of the genus Plasmodium, in humans Plasmodium consists of 4 species, namely Plasmodium ovale. Pesawaran Regency is the area with the most malaria cases, in 2017 there were 1,738 cases of malaria in the working area of the Hanura Village Health Center. The purpose of this study was to identify and identify Plasmodium malaria species that infect the community in the working area of the Hanura Health Center, Teluk Pandan District, Pasawaran Regency, Lampung. This type of research is a descriptive survey research with cross-sectional method using univariate data analysis. The data in this study are primary data, namely the results of Plasmodium identification in blood preparations and in the form of patient demographic data (Age, Gender, Education and Behavior using mosquito nets or not). The result showed that from 164 respondents, 22 patients found Plasmodium parasites. The identified Plasmodium parasites were Plasmodium vivax as many as 20 people (9,1%). From the results of this study , it can be concluded that the Plasmodium parasite was found and identified that infects the community in the work area at the Hanura Village Health Center, Teluk Pandan, District, Pasawaran Regency.
