Abstract

Gout (Pirai) is a disease associated with hyperuricemia. Hyperuricemia is a condition in which uric acid levels in the blood increase above normal, >7 mg% in men and >6 mg% in women. The prevalence of gout increases at the age of 30-50 years. Soybean milk is a liquid produced from the extraction of soybean seed protein. Soybean milk contains isfolavon compounds that can inhibit the work of the xanthine oxidase, where xanthine oxidase converts xanthine into uric acid. This study was to find out the effect of soybean milk consumption on uric acid levels in women. This study was experimental with the type of One Group Pretest-Posttest Design with a total of 18 respondents. This study was conducted for 6 days by giving soybean milk as much as 250 mL to respondents and measuring uric acid levels before and after soybean milk consumption. This study obtained the average uric acid level before the consumption of soybean milk was 6.1 mg / dL and the average uric acid level after the consumption of soybean milk was 5.5 mg / dL, the effect of soybean milk on uric acid levels in women tested with a Paired Sample T Test test with a Sig value. (2-tailed) 0.017. There is an effect of soybean milk consumption (Glycine max (L.) Merr) on uric acid levels in women.
