Abstract

In Indonesia, helminthiasis is still the most common health problem and is still quite high. Helminthiasis is caused by worms that enter the human body that are transmitted through the soil so that it can cause Soil Transmitted Helmint (STH) infection. The groups included in the STH are Ascaris lumbricoides, Trichuris trichiura, and hookworms (Ancylostoma duodenale and Necator americanus). Breeders are one of the jobs in the village community. Baki Subdistrict is a subdistrict in Sukoharjo regency, Central Java consisting of 14 villages and some of its people have jobs as pig farmers. This study aims to determine the presence or absence of Soil Transmitted Helminth eggs in the feces of pig farmers in Baki District, Sukoharjo Regency. This study used a descriptive research design using the Indirect method of precipitation of formalin ether. The research data were analyzed using descriptive analysis techniques which are presented in the table in percent form. The results showed that 18 respondents from pig farmers in Baki District, Sukoharjo Regency, did not find Soil Transmitted Helminth (STH) eggs so they were declared negative in all samples studied.
