Abstract

Carbon monoxide or CO is the result of incomplete combustion of fuels containing carbon. Every year, CO is released into the air in large quantities among air pollutants. CO enters the human body to form carboxyhemoglobin (CoHb). The purpose of this study was to determine the description of carboxyhemoglobin (CoHb) levels in the blood of street parking attendants around Solo Baru. This research is a descriptive research. The sampling technique used is quota sampling. The research respondents were 5 road parking attendants around Solo Baru. COHb examination using the Conway diffusion cell method using AES80 UV Vis spectrophotometer. The results of COHb examination ranged from 0.51% - 0.68%. The absorbance was read at a wavelength of 405 nm and operating time at 60 minutes. The research concluded that COHb levels in the blood of road parking attendants around Solo Baru were normal or did not exceed the threshold value set by ACGIH, namely 3.5%.
