Abstract

One of the causes of health problems is helminthiasis. The worm disease that often infects humans is pinworm (Enterobius vermicularis). This disease attacks all ages, but the most sufferers are children aged 4-12 years. Some of the influencing factors are location (village or city, slums, etc.), age group, habits of the local population (quality of personal hygiene), and minimal parental knowledge of worms. The aim of the study was to identify helminthiasis (Enterobius vermicularis) in children aged 4-12 years in Madegondo Village Grogol Sukoharjo Districts. This research method is descriptive. The population of children in Madegondo Village who passed the examination criteria was 15 children using purposive sampling technique. For the sampling method using the anal swab method which is the best method for diagnosing Enterobius vermicularis. Eggs and worms are taken with an anal swab in the morning before the child does activities using a cellophane swab that is attached around the anus. The results of the study obtained data on the prevalence of Enterobius vermicularis infection as many as 0 people (0%) while the prevalence that was not infected with Enterobius vermicularis was 15 people (100%) or it can be seen that there were no respondents infected with enterobiasis in children aged 4-12 years in Madegondo Village Grogol Sukoharjo Districst.
