Abstract

The waters of Tanjung Mas Semarang are multifunctional areas, tourism, settlements, industrial activities, households, trade, ports, sea transportation, that dispose of waste into those waters. The presence of pollutants will affect the quality of water and aquatic organisms living in these waters. Marine biota that live in these waters include dogol shrimp (Metapenaeus monoceros) is a mainstay commodity of the fishery sector that is generally exported in the form of frozen, has a high nutritional value. The existence of many human activities in Tanjung Mas Waters that potentially produce waste containing heavy metals including copper metal that can contaminate water. This study aims to determine the metal content of copper that accumulates in dogol shrimp from fish auction at Tanjung Mas Semarang. This research uses UV-VIS spectrophotometry method. The data obtained were analyzed descriptively by comparing the food standard based on Decree of Director General of Food and Drug Control No. 03725 / B / SK / VII / 89, that the permitted level of copper in food was 20.0 mg / kg. The results showed that the highest metal content of copper in dogol prawn was in TPI II of 5.3660 mg / kg, the second highest was in TPI I of 5.3586 mg / kg, while the lowest was in TPI III of 5.3251 mg / kg, still below the specified threshold (20 mg / kg).
