Abstract
Urinary tract infection (UTI) is a condition where germs or microbes grow and multiply in the urinary tract in significant quantities. Several studies have shown the factors that can cause UTIs such as gender, age and bacteria that cause it. This study aims to determine the description of UTI events based on gender, age and the causative bacteria in Yogyakarta Special Region. This research uses a literature study method which is done descriptively by uniting the justification from the various reference journals used. The results showed that the highest prevalence of respondents infected with UTI was women, with the most age being children and the dominant uropathogenic microorganisms were Escherichia coli and Pseudomonas aeruginosa. Based on the results of data analysis, it can be concluded that the highest prevalence of UTI based on sex in DIY is female, children aged 6-16 years are the most respondents who are infected with UTI, Escherichia coli and Pseudomonas aeruginosa are bacterial species that are often found to cause UTI in DIY.
