Abstract
Helminthiasis is an infectious disease caused by worm parasites. This disease is common in the world, including in Indonesia. Worm parasites that often cause helminthiases are the Soil Transmitted Helminths (STH) group, namely roundworms (Ascaris lumbricoides), whipworms (Trichuris trichiura), Hookworms and Threadworms Stercoralis. The purpose of this study was to determine the differences between the Flotation Method and the Sedimentation Method in the identification of the STH (Soil Transmitted Helminths) Worm Eggs in children's feces. This study uses a type of literature study. The data needed in this study were obtained from the results of research on the contamination of eggs Transmittd Helminths Soil in children using the flotation method and sedimentation method. The research sample used was faeces. The data obtained were then analyzed using descriptive analysis. Based on the results obtained, from the Flotation and Sedimentation methods obtained positive results in the stools of Children 19 (11%) and Negative results 146 (89%) from 162 stool samples. There are differences in the number of egg species between the Flotation Method and the Sedimentation Method. Contaminating species are Ascaris lumbricoides, Trichuris trichiura and Hook worm.
