Abstract

Increased age occurs with the aging process such as physical changes. In the premenopausal phase occurs at the age of 40 - 48 years, while menopause occurs at the age of 49 - 51 years. Uric acid levels increase in menopausal women due to the absence of the hormone estrogen which plays an important role in increased uric acid excretion through urine, the continuous deposition of uric acid in the body so that the kidneys are unable to excrete uric acid properly. The purpose of this study was to analyze data on differences in uric acid levels in premenopausal and menopausal women. This research is a literature study. Research literature study using three data taken from two journals and one thesis. The analysis used is descriptive analysis. This study used a cross sectional study design with a strip method. Patroni R research results, 2017 with a p-value of 0.0001, while in Arpiana I, 2017 the pvalue of 0.001 and Novianti's research, 2014, had a p-value of 0.01. The three studies showed a p-value ≤ 0.05 so it could be stated that there was a difference between uric acid levels in premenopausal and menopausal women. After analyzing it, it was concluded that there was a difference between uric acid levels in premenopausal and menopausal women.
