Abstract

Diabetes mellitus is a chronic disease that cannot be cured but can be prevented and controlled. This disease is related to lifestyle, so the success of diet therapy depends on the behavior of patients with diabetes mellitus in undergoing meal recommendations given. The purpose of this study was to determine the pattern of patient compliance in the use of diabetes mellitus drugs. This research is observational with cross sectional approach, data collection is done by purposive sampling. The number of samples in this study were 24 respondents, data on therapy adherence were obtained by MMAS questionnaire and the success of therapy was obtained through Medical Records. Data were analyzed using the chisquare test. Based on the results of the study of Compliance Patterns of Drug Use for Diabetes Mellitus Therapy in Penumping Surakarta Health Center is the age of the patient (p-value = 0.399), gender (p-value = 0.927), education (p-value = 0.873), work (p-value = 0.305), based on the duration of suffering (p-value = 0.602), the number of drugs consumed (p-value = 0.113), the factor of comorbidities (p-value = 0.935), it can be concluded that there is no correlation between patient characteristics and adherence level diabetes mellitus patients (p> 0.05)
