Abstract
Inflammation is an active response from the body caused by injury, chemicals or microbiological substances. One of the medicinal plants is beluntas (Pluchea indica L.). Beluntas has chemical content in the form of saponins, flavonoids, and tannins which function as antiinflammatory. This study aims to determine the anti-inflammatory activity of the ethanol extract of beluntas leaves (Pluchea indica L.) cream preparations and the concentration of the ethanol extract of beluntas leaves (Pluchea indica L.) in creams that have antiinflammatory activity. This research is an experimental research using male Wistar rats. This research was conducted by dividing the test animals into 5 groups including a positive control group (2.5% hydrocortisone cream), a negative control group, 5%, 15%, and 25% beluntas leaf cream extract group. The antiinflammatory test was carried out using the incision method with a length of 2cm, and a depth of ± 2mm. Each group was smeared with ± 0.5 gram of cream and observed for 10 days. The research data were processed using statistics using the ANOVA method and continued with the T test. The results of this study indicate that the ethanol extract of beluntas leaves (Pluchea indica L.) has anti-inflammatory activity in Wistar male white rats and formula 3 with a concentration of 25% shows good antiinflammatory activity and there is no significant difference with positive control (hydrocortisone cream. 2.5%).
