Abstract

Sawo Kecik (Manilkara kauki) is a plant in the from of a tree that can reach a height of 30 meters and a trunk diameter of more than 100 cm, thick stem buttress with a height of 1,5 meters, has mature leaves marked with dark green. Sawo Kecik (Manilkara kauki) brown spreading in Indonesia, the area of distribution is northern Sumatra, Java, Madura, Bali, Sulawesi, Maluku, and Sumbawa. Sawo Kecik (Manilkara kauki) has a variety of compounds including flavonoids, saponins, alkaloids, and tannins. The purpose of using the Sawo Kecik (Manilkara kauki) leaf part is to out the leaves are able to inhibit the growth of antibacterial with 96% ethanol extract against Klebsiella pneumoniae, the method used is Kirby Bauer with positive control Ciprofloxacin, negative control DMSO. The result showed that extract of sapodilla leaves can inhibit bacterial growth with inhibitory zone at a concentration of 100% by 17,60 mm, a concentration of a 75% by 16,50 mm, a concentration of 50% by 15,70 mm and a concentration of a 25% by 13,90 mm.
