Abstract

Rosella flowers (Hibiscuss sabdariffa L.) in traditional medicine can be efficacious to provide protection against various diseases, such as coronary heart disease, cancer, lowering cholesterol, liver disorders. The combination of Avicel PH 101 and pregelatinized cassava starch as a disentegran. The use of pregelatinized cassava starch as a disintegran is to increase particle size so that a larger particle size is obtained, so that when contact with water will be more easily destroyed Optimization with the simplex lattice design method aims to facilitate the design, compile data mathematically. Rosella flower extract was obtained by maceration of rosella flower powder using 70% ethanol. Optimization of tablets based on the Simplex Lattice Design method using Design Expert software version 10 and verified using one sample t-test. The results showed that rosella flower extracts were prepared by tablets with a wet granulation method with a mixture of Avicel PH 101 and pregelatinized cassava starch, formula with comparison 6.5%: 3.4% as the optimum formula with the results of weight uniformity test 0,54 ± 0,01, hardness 5,25 ± 0,60 kg, fragility 0,45 ± 0,32%, disintegration time 11.56 ± 0.05 minutes and size uniformity of 0,43 ± 0,01 %
