Abstract

Diabetes Mellitus is a lifetime chronic disease that can causes many complications. Nowadays, diabetes mellitus becomes one of the serious threats in the medical field. This can be proven by the incident and the prevalence of the diabetes mellitus that increase from year to year. The procedure and the treatment become the two things that should be considered, one of them is about its prescription, especially in JKN era. Rumah Sakit Panti Waluyo, one of the referral private hospital, also handles the diabetes mellitus’ patients of type 2. This research aimed to know the characteristics and the prescription system of the diabetes mellitus patients of type 2 to the JKN patients in Rumah Sakit Panti Waluyo that analysed in descriptive. The result of the data recapitulation from the 364 samples shows that based on the age characteristics there are elderly patients in the age of 55-56 years old as the highest percentage with 37.91%, women dominating the diabetes mellitus patients of type 2 based on the gender characteristics with 62,36%, based on the patient’s diagnosis with hypertension is most widely found in Rumah Sakit Panti Waluyo with the percentage of 37,09%. ADO therapy that most widely prescribed is metformin with the percentage of 30.30%, and the insulin therapy that mostly used is Lantus in 12.68% of percentage. The percentage of the type 2 diabetes mellitus’ prescription is known that there are 59.07% using ADO therapy, 10.98% with insulin therapy and 29.95% with the combination of both ADO and insulin therapy.
