Abstract
Phenolic compounds have very active antioxidant potential, one of which can be found in the peel of citrus fruits and each variation of orange peel has many differences. differences in variations of citrus fruit peels can affect the total phenolic yield contained, for this reason, the concentration of variations in the peel of lemon, lime and baby java sweet orange is carried out. The research objective was to determine the effect of total phenolic content in the ethanol extract of lemon peel, lime peel, and baby java sweet orange peel using UV-Vis spectrophotometric method. The extraction method used was remaceration with 70% ethanol solvent. Quantitative analysis of the ethanol extract of variations of orange peel using UV-Visible spectrophotometry with the FolinCiocalteu method. In this study, the results of phenolic content determination in the ethanol extract of baby java sweet orange were 42.19 mg GAE / g, lemon peels 32.38 mg GAE / g, and lime peels 21.37 mg GAE / g. .The comparison of phenolic levels showed a statistically significant difference (P <0.05).
