Abstract
The herb ciplukan (Physalis angulata L) contains flavonoids which can increase the regeneration process caused by free radicals by synthesizing competitive substrates for unsaturated lipids in membranes and accelerating the repair mechanism of damaged cell membranes. The solubility of the flavonoids itself is low in water with a short filling time in the small intestine so that it provides low absorption. Transdermal patch preparations are selected in formulations to increase bioavailability, provide a long-term drug effect, release the drug at a constant dose. This study aims to determine the concentration of HPMC which produces ciplukan herb extract patches that have good physical stability. Ciplukan herb extract obtained by extraction by maceration method using ethanol 95% solvent. The patch preparations were made with ciplukan herbaceous ethanol extract with various HPMC concentrations of 6%, 7%, and 8%. Physical stability test was carried out on days 0, 7, 14, 21, and 28 which included: organoleptic test (shape, color, smell and taste), weight uniformity test, homogeneity test, pH test, thickness test, drying shrinkage test, and folding resistance test and aseptability test to respondents. Based on the results obtained, ciplukan herbaceous patches on a 6% HPMC basis yields a weight uniformity value with an average weight (0.49g±0.009), folding resistance (> 300), thickness (0.01±0), drying loss. (0%), ph (4.8±0.2309), and aseptability were obtained mean values (3.9).
