Abstract

Diabetes melitus is one of comorbidities that can increase the risk of illnes for Covid-19. There are many herbal medicine that can help diabetic patients to control and lower blood sugar. This study aims to determine the antidiabetic activity of combination ethanol extract blue pea flower (Clitoria ternatea L.) and red agathi flower (Sesbania grandiflora L.) and more effective than single extract. Research began with the process of extraction, qualitative identification and while the antidiabetic assay was carried out by using the Nelson-Somogyi method with using the instrument specthrophotometer UV-Vis. Study perfomed on four comparison concentration sample extract ethanol blue pea flower and red agathi flower are 1:0; 1:2; 2:1; 0:1. The activity of reducing glucose levels optimally at concentration 2:1 with an EC50 value of 13,5436 ppm and this combination concetration is more effective rather than the single exctract concentration 1:0 with an EC50 value of 13,6929 ppm and concentration 0:1 with an EC50 value of 13,7350 ppm.
