Abstract
Worms is a disease that still occurs in many communities, especially in rural communities, but it does not get enough attention. This worm disease can be transmitted through soil called Soil Transmitted Helminths (STH). The Soil Transmitted Helminths egg group is Ascaris lumbricoides, Trichuris trichiura, and Hookworm. Soil Transmitted Helminths are nematode worms that require soil for the development of the infective form. The occupation that is closely related to STH infection is farming. This study aims to determine the presence of Soil Transmitted Helminths eggs on the nails of farmers in Kaliwedi Village, Sragen. Sampling was done by simple radom sampling of 20 farmer’s nail samples. The sample is soaked with NaOh 0,25% solution then precipitated by centrifugation and examined under a microscope. The examination was carried out at the Parasitology Laboratory of the Surakarta National College of Health with sedimentation techniques. The data obtained were analyzed descriptively. The results showed that there were no eggs found in Soil Transmitted Helminths or eggs STH which is found to be 0% of the 20 nail samples examined.
