Abstract

The burden of stress or anxiety that is felt to be heavy can also trigger a person to behave negatively, one of which is drug abuse. Benzodiazepines are class IV psychotropics included in the group of drugs that function as antiseizures, muscle relaxants, hypnotics and tranqulizers (sedatives). Benzodiazepines are the drugs of first choice for generalized anxiety disorder.The purpose of this study was to determine the presence or absence of benzodiazepine psychotropics in students of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences in Surakarta The type of research in this Scientific Writing is descriptive qualitative. The qualitative test used the strip test method. Using 10 samples of urine when obtained from students of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences. A negative benzodiazepine test result was indicated by the formation of 1 strip on the control line and the test line. Immersion of the test strip is carried out for 15-20 seconds and the reading should not take more than 5 minutes. The results showed that all urine samples tested negative did not contain benzodiazepines. All urine samples of students from the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences in the city of Surakarta which were tested negative did not contain benzodiazepine psychotropics.
