Abstract
Anemia is one of the health problems in the world, especially in developing countries. Based on data from the World Health Organization (WHO) in 2015, the prevalence of anemia in the world is estimated at 1.32 billion people or about 25% of the world's human population. The high prevalence of anemia is due to their limited ability to absorb iron. The purpose of this study was to determine whether there is a relationship between body mass index and hemoglobin levels in National STIKES students. This research is an analytic observational with a cross sectional approach and uses a total sampling method in sampling. To calculate body mass index, weight and height were measured. The results of the study obtained data on the age of respondents 20-21 years. Some respondents have a normal body mass index (18.5 – 25.0 kg/m2 ). Respondents who had hemoglobin levels less than normal were 5 respondents. Based on these results, it can be concluded that there is no relationship between body mass index and hemoglobin levels in National STIKES students.
