Abstract
Carbon monoxide (CO) is a colorless, odorless and tasteless gas. Exposure to high concentrations of carbon monoxide gas during continuous exposure can lead to increased blood COHb levels, especially for people who are often exposed to carbon monoxide continuously, one of which is a motorcyclist. The purpose of this study was to find out the level of carboxsihemoglobin in motorcyclist students at the National College of Health Sciences. The examination method uses conway diffusion cells. The samples used are 7 samples from National STIKES Students obtained by quota sampling techniques, and with the specified criteria. Quantitative test results using the conway diffusion cell method using the UV-VIS Spectrophotometer showed that the COHb levels in the examined sample had a content of 0.43%; 0,41%; 0,32%; 0,34%; 0,47%; 0,48%; and 0.46%. Based on these results, it can be concluded that all samples examined have levels below the standard threshold of PERMENKES RI No. 70 of 2016 which is no more than 3.5%.
