Abstract

Triglycerides are one of the fat fractions in the blood that are formed in the liver from glycerol and fat derived from food with insulin stimulation or from excess calories due to excessive food. Excessive alcohol consumption increases the risk of liver cirrhosis, coronary heart disease, metabolic disorders and stroke. The end product of this reaction is acetate and is further metabolized to form acetyl CoA. The combination of NADH and acetyl CoA supports fatty acid synthesis and triglyceride storage and accumulation. So this study aims to determine the description of triglyceride levels in Alcohol Drinkers in Demangan Village, Karanganyar Regency. This research was a descriptive study with 30 alcoholic drinkers in Demangan Village Karanganyar Regency of blood samples that had signed informed consent. The sampling technique used is Purposive Sampling. Triglyceride levels in this blood sample was examined with the Photometer Clima Mc15. The results of this study indicate that of the 30 blood samples were examined the results of triglyceride levels in alcoholic drinkers in Demangan Village which is more than normal as much as 12 respondents (40%) and within normal limits is 18 respondents (60%). Based on the duration of alcohol consumption, 13 respondents had triglyceride levels more than normal. In the frequency of alcohol consumption, triglyceride levels were more than normal as many as 12 respondents. Based on the volume of alcohol consumption as many as 12 respondents had triglyceride levels more than normal. The conclusion of this research is that most men based on alcohol consumption in Demangan Village, Karanganyar Regency have normal triglyceride levels. The highest increase in triglyceride levels was found in the variable duration of alcohol consumption as many as 13 respondents (43.33%)
