Abstract

The demand for drinking water by the community is getting higher, causing the number of Refill Drinking Water Depots, but it is not matched by its quality, in practice many Refill Drinking Water Depots do not pay attention to the sanitary hygiene of the equipment used in the production process, one of which is the drinking water filling tap. The purpose of this study was to determine the types of fungi in drinking water taps and in refill drinking water. This research is a descriptive research method with two treatment factors, namely an examination of the identification of fungi in the water filling faucet and an examination of the identification of fungi in the water through the water filling faucet. Samples were taken from 50% of refill drinking water depots in each sub-district in Karanganyar Regency. Identification of the fungus was swab with a sterile cotton swab. The data were analyzed using the ANOVA method. The results showed that 40.74 % of Aspergillus sp was found in the filling tap, 27.78% of Penicillium sp., 1.85% of Fussarium sp., while examination of refill drinking water found 31.48% of Aspergillus sp., 16.6 Penicillium sp. % and 1.85% Fussarium sp. The results of the ANOVA test revealed that there was no difference in the results of the inspection on the water filling faucet and refilled drinking water with p-value 0.124 > 0.05. The conclusion of this study was that the most common type of fungus found was Aspergillus sp. and there was no difference in the results of the fungal identification examination on water filling taps and refill drinking water.
