The prevalence of hypertension according to WHO hypertension data is suffered by one billion people worldwide and it is estimated that in 2025 it will increase to 1.5 billion people. Every year hypertension or high blood pressure contributes to the deaths of almost 9.4 million people due to heart disease and stroke and when combined. Both of these diseases are the number one cause of death in the world. The purpose of this study was to determine the level of adherence to treatment of hypertensive patients at the Central Magelang Health Center. The design used in this study is descriptive research. by using a prospective approach. Sampling uses purposive sampling method. Compliance with taking antihypertensive drugs was measured using the MMAS-8 (Morisky Medication Adherence Scale) method which consisted of 8 questions. The results showed that compliance with hypertension drug use in hypertensive patients in the Central Magelang Health Center for the period March - April 2019 was mostly nonadherent to taking antihypertensive drugs, namely 69%.
