Abstract

Dispensing of sterile preparations is one form of pharmaceutical services performed in hospitals. Handling of cytotoxic drugs is one of the important component in sterile preparation. The handling of cytostatic preparations is carried out in a disciplined manner to prevent unwanted risks and medication errors. Evaluation of the suitability of work against the procedure for mixing cytostatic preparations has never been done at the Pharmacy Installation of the Onkologi Solo Hospital. The purpose of this study was to describe the handling of cytostatic preparations at the Onkologi Solo Hospital. This study was an observational descriptive research. The data was collected by observation and with a checklist. Using the checklist sheet as the instrument. Data is collected using a saturated sample technique. Based on the observational data obtained, scoring is then carried out, then interpreted into the percentage of conformity, namely: the suitability of Human Resources 100%, the suitability at the initial stage in the mixing room 66,7%, in the preparation process 96,43%, in the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) 100%, suitability at the process stage which is the mixing process 87,5%, and suitability at the final stage namely waste management 100%. Based on the results of the study obtained an overview related to Human Resources, the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), activities for preparing cytostatics preparations, mixing activities of cytostatic drugs, and waste management that are in accordance with standards. The availability of the chemotherapy drug mixing room at the Onkologi Solo Hospital has been implemented quite well.
