Abstract
Diabetes mellitus has now become a serious threat to global health. Based on data from the international diabetes federation (IDF), Indonesia has the status of diabetes due to its seventh of the ten countries with the highest number of diabetes patients. Diabetes melitus can cause complications from both acute and chronic illnesses and cause a decrease in the body's resistance so that patients are susceptible to infections. Indonesia has a tropical climate with high humidity, a lot of glucose in diabetes mellitus patients which is a growth nutrient, making diabetes mellitus patients susceptible to fungal infections. The fungus that causes the most infection is the Candida albicans. The study aims to examine the growth of the Candida albicans in the urine of diabetes mellitus at Klaten Islamic General Hospital by using Chrom Agar Candida (CAC) and calculating the number of colonies. Research obtained from 30 urine of diabetes mellites samples at the Islamic General Hospital Klaten there are 6 positive samples growing in the Candida albicans (20%) with the largest number of 1470 colonies and at least 60 colonies. Studies confirm that the growth of the Candida albicans in the urine of diabetes mellitus.
