Abstract
Pesticides are dangerous and toxic substances. The use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) when spraying is very important to avoid direct contact with pesticides. Exposure through inhalation and skin are the main routes of pesticides and the liver is one of the target organs of pesticides. The accumulation of pesticide use if it enters the liver cannot be excreted and causes liver cell or organelle disorders. Cholinesterase is an enzyme that functions to hydrolyze Acetylcholine into choline and acetic acid (acetic acid). Organophosphate and carbamate group pesticides work in the same way, namely binding acetylcholinesterase or as acetylcholinesterase inhibitors. This study aims to determine the Correlation between cholinesterase levels and blood SGPT levels in vegetable farmers in Subaim Village, East Halmahera Regency. This study used a cross sectional study design with a sample of 20 farmers. The study was conducted at the Caya Medika Utama Buli Clinical Laboratory using the Mindray BS-200E. The results of statistical tests with SPSS using the Shapiro Wilk test obtained a value of 0.151 (sig > 0.05). It was stated that there was no relationship between cholinesterase levels and blood levels of SGPT (Serum Glutamic Pyruvic Transaminase) in vegetable farmers in Subaim Village, East Halmahera Regency.
