Abstract

Salmonella sp. is the cause of Salmonellosis due to foodborne disease which is zoonotic. This study aims to determine the comparison of infection with Salmonella sp.on broiler chicken and Indonesian domestic chicken which are sold at the Jelambar Inpres Market, West Jakarta . The research sample used was chicken thighs consisting of 10 broiler chicken and 10 Indonesian domestic chicken. Isolation of Salmonella sp. this was done by inserting chicken meat samples into GN Broth media, which was incubated at 37oC for 24 hours. Furthermore, if the GN Broth media became cloudy, it indicated the the presence of bacterial growth, followed by planting on Mac Conkey media and incubating at 37oC for 24 hours. Then the color of the colonies that grew was observed and the gram staining and planting on Chromagar Salmonella media, and also SIM biochemical test were then incubated at 37oC for 24 hours. The research was analyzed descriptively. Based on the results of the research that has been carried out , it can be said that there was no Salmonella sp (0%) bacteria found in broiler chicken and Indonesia domestic chicken and there was no difference in the findings of Salmonella sp between broiler and Indonesian domestic chicken at the Inpres Jelambar market, West Jakarta.
