Abstract

Background : Diabetes mellitus is an uncontagious disease that continues to increase the prevalence and contribute to the number of death. More than 90% of diabetic suffered is diabetes mellitus type 2. Adiponektin is a specific protein that is scrubbed by the adipose tissue and play a role in glucose metabolism, so the condition of hypoadiponectinemia can cause glucose metabolism. Objevtive : This research aims to know the correlation between the adiponectin levels and fasting glucose on diabetes mellitus type 2 in Prodia National Reference Laboratory. Method : The research method used was analytic study with the cross-sectional approach. The data collection techniques using the sampling quota with a subject of research 41 patients diabetes mellitus type 2. The adiponectin levels was examined with ELISA methods and fasting glucose levels were examined with hexokindase methods. Result : Research results show diabetes mellitus type 2 sufferers more happen to male as many as 68,3% and female are 31.7%.. With a range of 18-44 years of 12,2%, 45-64 years of 80.5%, 65-74 years of 7.3%, and no one for over 75 years old. Rank Spearman’s correlation test acquired p=0.039 (p=<0.05) and r=-0.324 that means there is negative correlation. Conclusion : There is significant correalation between adiponectin and fasting glucose level in patients with diabetes mellitus type 2 in Prodia National Reference Laboratory Jakarta.
