Abstract

Obesity is a condition of the accumulation of excess fat. Obesity is a problem that often occurs in women of reproductive age. Obesity is one of the most important factors in the development of Non-Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease (NAFLD). A recent study provides new evidence that an increase in BMI exerts an effect on adiposity to increase GGT enzymes through oxidative stress. Oxidative stress is a condition caused by an imbalance in the number of free radicals and antioxidants in the body. In several studies, the level of GGT in obese individuals is positively correlated with BMI. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between GGT levels and BMI in women of reproductive age at Prodia Health Care Bintaro. The research subjects were 29 patients. In this study, it is known that all respondents have no history of DM, smoking, or alcohol consumption.. Based on the results of the GGT test, the lowest score was 10 and the highest was 82. Furthermore, the BMI test results showed the lowest score was 25 and the highest was 41.3. Based on the results of the analysis of hypothesis testing using the Spearman correlation test, it is known that the value of sig. (2-tailed) is 0.407, so it can be concluded that there is no relationship between GGT levels and BMI in women of childbearing age.
