Abstract

Tuberculosis (TB) is currently a public health problem both in Indonesia and internationally, so that it becomes one of the goals of sustainable health development (SDGs). One of the priorities in controlling tuberculosis (TB) is being able to detect TB early. Microscopic examination of Acid-fast bacilli (BTA) is the most commonly used method to detect Mycobacterium tuberculosis, although it has low sensitivity. The GeneXpert® MTB/RIF Rapid Molecular Test (TCM) is an automated test based on the deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) test to detect bacteria and at the same time detect bacteria against rifampin. The purpose of this study was to determine the differences in the results of the Microscopic examination and the Rapid Molecular Test (TCM GeneXpert) in the diagnosis of suspected TB with sputum samples at the Gebrak TB activity at the Puskesmas Giriwoyo 1. This study was an analytical type of research with cross sectional research used, namely a study to study the dynamics of the correlation between risk actors and effects, by approaching, observing or collecting data all at once (point of time approach). Based on the results of research conducted at the Puskesmas Giriwoyo 1, it can be obtained that 52 respondents with pulmonary tuberculosis obtained a p value = 0.001 (α < 0.05). Based on the hypothesis that has been written, the results are H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted.The conclusion is that there is a significant difference in the diagnosis of pulmonary TB in suspected TB using microscopic methods and molecular rapid tests (genexpert) in the TB crackdown activity at Puskesmas Giriwoyo 1
