Abstract

Hookworm is one of the intestinal worms belonging to the group of worms whose life cycle is through the soil, Necator Americanus and Ancylostoma Duodenale are the most important hookworms among worms that infect humans. Hookworm eggs that come out with feces in the soil within two days will hatch into larvae. The mining worker profession is included in the group with a high risk of infection with helminthiasis, the life of mining workers who are in a hole is in a hole in the ground day and night with a depth of up to 120 meters, with improvised facilities and minimal use of personal protective equipment, poor personal hygiene and the habit of defecation that is not in place is a risk factor for helminth infection. The purpose of this study was to identify Hookworm eggs in traditional gold mining workers in Tanoyan Bolaang Mongondow Village and the percentage found. This study uses a descriptive type of research. Examination of worm eggs was carried out using direct or native methods, the samples used were fresh feces and personal hygiene assessment using a questionnaire. The results of the study found hookworm eggs in traditional gold mining workers as many as 2 respondents with a percentage of 8.7%. From the results of this study, it can be concluded that traditional gold mining workers in the village of Tanoyan Bolaang Mongondow identified hookworm eggs.
