Abstract

Trichomonas vaginalis is a pathogenic protozoan parasite that causes trichomoniasis. This infection is usually transmitted through sexual contact which can attack the lower urogenital tract in both women and men. Several risk factors, including in high-risk women, are believed to be the main transmission factor. Factors that are indicated to trigger an increase in the number of sufferers of sexually transmitted infections in Banyumas are sub-district which has Baturraden Lokawisata which is quite famous and attracts tourists. The existence of Gang Sadar which is the residence of female sex workers with a strategic location and close to tourist attractions in Baturraden, makes many tourists visit. The large number of female sex workers there, has the potential to increase the risk of transmission of sexually transmitted diseases including trichomoniasis. The purpose of this study was to determine the presence of Trichomonas vaginalis in urine samples of high-risk women in the tourist area of Baturraden, Banyumas Regency. This study is descriptive with quota sampling technique. Involved 30 high-risk female research subjects. Each research subject was subjected to microscopic examination of urine and filling out a questionnaire. Data processing used tables and calculated the percentage of urine contained Trichomonas vaginalis. The results of microscopic observations obtained Trichomonas vaginalis parasites as many as 2 people from 30 research subjects. The results of this study concluded that the percentage of positive Trichomonas vaginalis was 6.7%.
