Abstract

Soil Transmitted Helminth (STH) is a parasite belonging to the intestinal nematode that can infect humans by transmitting it through soil media. The most common worm parasites that infect are Ascaris lumbricoides, Trichuris trichiura, and Hookworms. There are several jobs that are at risk of being infected with STH, one of which is brick craftsman. Menuran Village is one of the villages in Sukoharjo Regency with the majority of its residents working as brick craftsmen. The type of research used is descriptive research using quota sampling technique. Determination of samples obtained from people who work as brick makers in Menuran Village. Stool sample examination was carried out using the flotation method with 33% saturated NaCl on 23 stool samples examined. The results of the examination showed that the sample of brick craftsman's feces examined did not find Soil Transmitted Helminth eggs with a percentage of 0%. The conclusion of this study is that the faecal samples of brick craftsmen were not contaminated with Soil Transmitted Helminth eggs.
