Abstract

Hemoglobin is a red pigmented protein found in red blood cells. Hemoglobin is a very important element for a person's body because hemoglobin has a role to transport oxygen throughout the body as a burning substance to produce energy. One of the factors that affect hemoglobin levels is physical activity. Physical activity that can affect hemoglobin levels is moderate to heavy intensity physical activity. During the Covid-19 pandemic, the average community experienced a decrease in the frequency of physical activity, especially sports activities. This study aims to determine the description of hemoglobin levels in the National STIKES basketball team. This type of research is descriptive research. The examination method used is the cyanmethemoglobin method using a photometer MC RAL 15. The time of the study was carried out in December 2021 to May 2022. The number of research samples was 13 respondents with a total sampling technique. The data obtained were then processed and presented descriptively by making a table of the characteristics of the respondents. Based on the results of the study, it was found that from 13 respondents the results of normal hemoglobin levels were 8 respondents (61,54%), while the results of hemoglobin levels were less than normal as many as 5 respondents (38,46%) with an average of 13,1 grams/ dL, with a minimum hemoglobin level of 11,7 grams/dL, a maximum value of 15,2 grams/dL, and a standard deviation of 1,04. It can be concluded that most (61,54%) members of the National STIKES basketball team have normal hemoglobin levels.
