Abstract

Background and Purpose : Based on the 2018 Basic Health Research (Riskesdas) data, the preva.lence of joint disease in Indonesia based on doctor’s diagnosis is 7.3%, which is 713,783 cases. The prevalence of hyperuricemia in Asia in the last decade is around 13%-25%. There is no definite data regarding the number of people with hyperuricemia in Indonesia. The prevalence of hyperuricemia in population in Central Java is 6.14 in men and 8.46 in women. Aging is a factor in increasing uric acid levels. The purpose of thid study was to determine the description of uric acid levels at the age of 40-60 years in Karanglo Village, Waru, Baki, Sukoharjo. Methods : This type of research is descriptive. The sampling technique in this study was total sampling with a total of 37 residents of Karanglo Village RT 03 RW 04, Waru, Baki, Sukoharjo. The examination method used in Enzymatic Photometric (Urikase-PAP) Conclusion : This study concludes that from 37 respondent 27 respondent (73%) had normal uric acid levels, 5 respondent (13.5%) had uric acid levels less than normal, and 5 respondent (13.5%) had uric acid levels higher than normal uric acid. So it can be concluded that most (73%) resident of Karanglo, Waru, Baki, Sukoharjo who are 40 60 years old have normal uric acid levels
