Abstract

CO is a non-irritant toxic gas that has no color or odor so that CO gas cannot be detected by humans through taste or smell. CO comes from burning carbon in fuels such as gasoline, diesel, firewood, natural gas, or coal with high heat pressure. CO binds to hemoglobin more easily than O2 with an affinity value of 245 times. This causes inhibition of the binding of hemoglobin with oxygen. CO that has bound hemoglobin will form carboxyhemoglobin (COHb). This study aims to determine the description of carboxyhemoglobin levels in basement parking attendants in one of the malls in the city of Surakarta. National STIKES basketball team. COHb levels in parking attendants at a mall in Surakarta City with sample code A1 had levels of 0.62%; Sample A2 = 0.79%, Sample A3 = 0.60%, Sample A4 = 0.68%, Sample A5 = 0.66%. The carboxyhemoglobin data is then categorized according to the normal standard according to the Regulation of the Minister of Health of the Republic of Indonesia Number 70 of 2016 concerning Standards and Requirements for Health in the Industrial Work Environment, which is less than 3.5% in the bloodstream. The highest COHb level was found in code A2, which was 0.79%, while the lowest in code A1 was 0.62%, normal or not exceeding the normal threshold.
