Abstract

Hemoglobin is a protein substance found in erythrocytes and has the main function as a carrier of oxygen from the lungs to the rest of the body. One of the factors that affect hemoglobin levels is air pollutants on the streets. Activities on the road that provide internet-based transportation services are online motorcycle taxis. Air pollutants that can affect hemoglobin levels are motor vehicle pollutants on the road, one of which is carbon monoxide (CO). Exposure to CO gas pollutant when it enters the body will bind to hemoglobin and form carboxyhemoglobin because the affinity of CO gas is 200 times higher than the affinity of oxygen. The CO pollutant which is greater than oxygen causes the function of hemoglobin to carry oxygen throughout the body to be disturbed and decreased. This study aims to determine the description of hemoglobin levels in the Online Ojek Community in Solo GrandMall. This type of research is descriptive research. The examination method used is the cyanmethemoglobin method using a Clima MC-RAL 15 photometer. The time of the study was carried out from February to May 2022. The number of research samples was 40 respondents with a total sampling technique. The hemoglobin level examination data was processed using Microsoft Excel. The results of this study were obtained from 20 respondents who had normal hemoglobin levels as many as 12 respondents (30%) while those who had hemoglobin levels less than normal were 28 respondents (70%) with the average value of hemoglobin levels of all respondents being 13.3925 g/dl. , where the minimum value is 10.4 g/dl, the maximum value is 16.7 g/dl, and the standard deviation is 1.40446. It can be concluded that the majority (70%) of the online motorcycle taxi community at Solo GrandMall have hemoglobin levels that are less than normal.
