Abstract

Hypertension is one of the main contributors to the global burden of disease as a risk factor, cause of morbidity and mortality from cardiovascular and renal diseases. Various studies have been conducted to determine the various risk factors and their interactions with the incidence of complications in individuals with hypertension. Some of these risk factors include obesity, age, diabetes mellitus, and uric acid levels. The purpose of this study was to determine uric acid levels in hypertension sufferers. The type of research in this Scientific Paper is descriptive research with a cross sectional approach. The population used in this study were patients with hypertension at the Cambodian Posyandu in Gedangan Village, Grogol District, Sukoharjo Regency as many as 40 people and were willing to be respondents. After conducting research on 40 respondents with hypertension, the average value of uric acid levels was 4.9 g/dl. The conclusion of this study is the average value of uric acid levels in women is lower than the average value of uric acid levels in men.
